What I Need to Know

Are you dedicated to the process of nurturing this new soul to live his/her best life while blessing yours?

Are you realistic about expectations?  As one of my breeding heroes, Jeanette Forrey of The Ultimate Badass Breeder’s Guide says, if they are looking for “a puppy that won’t bark, potty in the house, or chew on anything, then they need a stuffed animal.”

Are you flexible enough to work with me, the new puppy, a veterinarian, potentially, a trainer, and other members of your new puppy team?

If so, let’s proceed!

So, what I’d like to know first is have you had other dogs?  Will you tell me about your other dog or dogs?  How long did you have them?  What did you love about them?  What drove you a little crazy?

Also, what do you know about this breed/ hybrid?  Our parent dogs are DNA tested, which helps remove some of the guesswork about future health considerations.  However, what other breed tendencies do you know about and/or would you like to discuss?

How long will your puppy be left alone on an average day? A puppy can usually be left alone one hour for every month of age, plus one. So, a three-month old puppy can be left alone for four hours (usually). How will your puppy stay safe while alone?

Where will the puppy sleep?

Who is mainly responsible for the puppy?

When, how, where will the puppy get exercised?

Most importantly, what do you want or need from a dog?
